Photography & musings from an LA Woman living in Sydney, Australia, and searching for the small joys in everyday life.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Saw “Killer Joe” at the Sydney Film Festival and laughed my ass off. Okay, yes, it is very violent in parts and features a scene that may just put you off fried chicken for a while, but DAMN… Matthew McConaughey gives the performance of his career in the title role. And the rest of the cast is superb as well. Me and my husband laughed until we nearly cried, but we might have been the only folks in the theatre intimately familiar with the type of characters being shown on the screen. John’s family history includes many generations of Texan farmers, going back to a time when Texas was not even a part of the United States (some say it still is its own country and, having spent a lot of time there, I can see their point). My Australian friend asked us if Texas trailer trash was really that bad and, without hesitation, we both agreed it wasn’t much of a stretch to imagine people this down and dirty in an East Texas trailer park.
Great cast, fabulous dark comedy, highly recommended. Go see it if you get a chance.
What in the hell is Kristen Stewart wearing and did someone just goose Charlize Theron?

Brave is having its Australian Premiere at the Sydney Film Festival on Monday, June 11th. Get your tickets while you can.
On The Road is one of the many films that I am looking forward to seeing this June at the Sydney Film Festival. Tickets just went on sale today, May 9th, so get on it! Other highlights (for me):
I’ve already signed up for six films during the first week of the festival. I am very tempted to go back and get a few more tickets, but I may be going solo to those showings (not sure the husband is going to go for two straight weeks of a film a night).
I love this event! Cannot wait.
